MACRO
A “macro”, or a “macro command” consists of a sequence of commands and/or printable
characters which follow the syntax described for the commands received from an external
computer. The macro can be permanently stored in the FLASH memory and can be ac-
cessed through the
/U
command or the front panel.
The printers in the series 400,500 and 300 (currently ST403, ST406, ST514, St516
ST302, ST312, ST314) can have a 512kb Flash mounted where it is possible to store a
maximum of 100 predefined macros (labels). The actual maximum number of labels that
can be stored obviously also depends on the on the size of the labels. The Flash memory is
seen by the printer as a read only diskette. The WinLW programme is used to send the
macro labels into the Flash memory of the printer.
The Macro named “AUTOEXEC”, if present in the Flash memory, is automatically exe-
cuted when the printer is switched on.
