Healthcare - Hospitals
Recent government mandates require hospitals to meet stringent standards for admissions and patient
identification, as well as laboratory and pharmaceutical management. Hospitals are using the Compact4
printers to meet these requirements as well as improve efficiencies. Their compact design, ease of use,
and long term reliability make them the perfect choice for hospitals. The Compact4 prints high quality
receipts and labels from 1½ inches to 4 inches wide with models that print 200dpi or 300dpi.
Records Management
The Compact4ʼs small size and exceptional print quality make it good
choice for record management. Every patient record needs accurate
tracking using a barcode and human readable text. This drastically
reduces the amount of errors resulting from misinterpreting handwriting or
writing incorrect information.
Payments
The printers are also used to generate payment receipts. The versatile
capabilities of the printer allow hospitals to standardize on a single
printing solution for receipts and labels throughout the facility.
Patient Identification
Wrist-tags or wristbands for patient identification and tracking can be
printed from a Compact4 unit. A barcoded wristband ties the patient to
any services they receive during their stay at the hospital and is critical to
preventing mistakes often caused by human error.
Specimen Tracking
The Compact4 printer is a critical component in the laboratory. Every
specimen analyzed and processed requires individual and highly
accurate tracking. The Compact4 prints slide and test-tube barcode
labels on demand during the process.
Surgeon Tool Tracking
Surgeonsʼ tools go through a sterilization process before use. The Compact4 printers are used to print
sterilization labels that identify when tools have gone through the process and how long before
reprocessing is required. Other information such as recent operators and frequency of use can also be
tracked.
Prescription Labeling
Pharmacies use the Compact4 printers to print prescription labels. The labels containing critical
information for the patient are adhered to the outside of the pill bottle or box of medication. Printing this
information rather than handwriting avoids errors and misinterpretation which can lead to serious
consequences.
