Powering
The unit is powered from the 240VAC line or through the battery connector with five
to12-volts or both simultaneously. The current from the AC line has been limited to about
4 milliamps for safety considerations. Beware that the unit is not grounded, but is floating
at the AC line potential. DO NOT TOUCH the electronics when connected to 240VAC.
Also be aware that the resistors that connect to the AC line do heat up. Typically, a 1/4 to
1/2 watt is being dissipated continuously.
