Datasheet

Retail / In-store
The standard product is equipped with the best features needed for retail applications such as snappiness, reading
distance and width, high throughput, durability and good read feedback. In this application, the Gryphon I reader is
absolutely the best in terms of performance. Wide interface capability, two-color choices and future optional EAS
capability make the Gryphon an ideal supplementary reader for use with Magellan scanners to read large or bulky items.
An auto sensing stand provides flexibility for customers when using Gryphon in smaller stores. For noisy environments,
the patented Green Spot provides a unique and reliable reading feedback to the customer.
Winning Points
Reading snappiness
Damaged label reading capability
Instinctive and long range reading
Reliability - No down time
Good reading feedback
Small dimensions and lightweight
Innovative design and ergonomics
Office
The Gryphon I reader is the right choice for office environments for two main reasons:
Robustness: As a linear imager, the Gryphon I has no moving parts providing higher reliability versus laser
products. Also, the Gryphon design has been optimized to provide product protection in any position the
product might fall. The Gryphon I has been tested to resist multiple 1.8 m / 5.9 ft drops to concrete and
repeated drops from lower distances.
Reading performance: Superior reading width among linear imagers comparable to the best laser products in
the market provide easy scanning of wide bar codes that are common in banking, insurance or utility bill
applications
Winning Points
Durability against repeated shocks
Wide code reading capability
Reading snappiness
Good reading feedback
Damaged labels reading capability
Government
The government segment is still rapidly growing for bar code readers. This is directly linked to the need for savings and
efficiency of public administration and related agencies. The primary application is document handling for office
automation where 100% accuracy of the captured data with no possibility of manual data entry errors provides a strong
incentive to adopt scanning.
Winning Points
Durability against repeated shocks
Wide code reading capability
Reading snappiness
Good reading feedback
