CHAPTER 1
Installation and Setup
This chapter discusses installing and starting Impact software. It also provides an overview of Impact soft-
ware programs.
NOTE: This manual covers the entire line of Datalogic Impact devices and cameras. Sections that apply to a
specific models will be indicated.
Impact software is a set of graphical tools used to configure the hardware and inspection tasks. The device or
camera can be accessed from any client computer with an Ethernet connection that has Impact software
installed on it. M-Series cameras can only be accessed by the M-Series processor.

If you need help while using the Impact software, you can refer to this manual or the online help.
To access online Help, click the Help icon in the toolbar, then click the desired topic in the Table of Contents
in the left pane of the Help window.
System Requirements for the A, T, and C-Series
Requirements for the Client Computer
Intel®, AMD®, or VIA® x86-class processor -minimum 1.2 GHz; 64-bit processors are supported
with Windows Vista and Windows 7
Microsoft® Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7
1 GB or more of RAM, 2 GB recommended
800MB or more of available hard disk space
10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection
Monitor display resolution of 1024 x 768 or greater
A program capable of reading Portable Document Format (PDF) files
CD-ROM Drive
Requirements for the Datalogic Impact device or camera
The device or camera and client computer must have the same version of Impact software installed.
The latest release that will support the A10 camera is release 8.1.7.2.
