Decoding
You can configure the Falcon’s decoding options by tapping > Settings >
System > Decoding
. Decoder configuration can also be accomplished for large
numbers of terminals using
FMU (Falcon Management Utility).
There are two sections in the
Decoding control panel, each containing addi-
tional pages. There are six General Configuration pages and multiple Bar
Code symbology pages.
Configuration Control Panels
Select the desired configuration from the following options shown in Figure 2-
3, and the other Decoding Properties figures on the following pages.
Using Auto-on while running from battery power will cause the battery pack to
discharge at a faster rate. The battery discharge rate decreases with a decrease in
backlight usage.

on page E-1; bar code settings are provided in Programming Bar Codes, starting
on page F-1.
