Linking the Reader to a Base Station
Linking the Reader to a Bluetooth
®
Enabled Device
A reader can optionally be linked to a PC with a Bluetooth radio
installed.
1. Ensure that the Bluetooth enabled device and its driver are
installed on the PC.
2. On the PC, open the control window for the Bluetooth device
(usually called “My Bluetooth Places”). Security settings are
supported for the Bluetooth serial port.
3. Scan the “
Link to a PC” barcode below.
4. On the PC, search for Bluetooth enabled devices that are in
range and select the “Datalogic PS7100 Reader.”
5. Connect with the serial port for the Datalogic PS7100 reader.
Note which serial port number is assigned to the reader.
6. Open your serial port application and connect to the reader using
the serial port that was assigned in the previous step.
NOTE
To link the reader to its own Base Station, refer to
the instructions provided in the Base Station Quick
Reference Guide (QRG).
