3.1.8 Temperature Sensor Locations
The SS8460 enclosure contains 9 temperature sensors located throughout the enclosure:
• Two sensors distributed on the baseboard measuring true ambient inlet air temperature
to the enclosure. Each ambient temperature sensor is connected to an independent I
2
C
bus for redundancy.
• One sensor is located at the inlet to each PCM.
• One sensor on each I/O module measuring the air temperature behind the expanders
within each I/O module.
• One sensor on each 5V regulator measuring the inlet air temperature to the module.
• One sensor on the LCD module.
Figure 47 shows the position of these temperature sensors within the SS8460. The
temperature sensor threshold settings are shown in Table 7.
