WhentheMagneticEncodesettingonthePrintingPreferencesEncodetabisselected,the
optionalmagneticstripeencodercanbeenabled.Theencodingdataissenttothecardprinter
throughtheprinterdriverusingtheprefixcharactersdescribedinthissection.Thisfunctionis
calledinlineencoding.
Ifthefirst
threecharactersinalineareprefixcharacters(tilde,“?”,andnumeral),thetextthat
followsisrecognizedasencodingdata.Encodingdataisnotprintedonacard.
TipsforSuccess
 Datamustbeformattedwiththesame,continuousfont.
 Onlycharactersspecifiedinthetableonpage 83canbeincluded.Usingothercharacters
resultsinanerror.
 Themaximumnumberofcharactersdoesnotincludethethreeprefixcharacters,orthestart
andendsentinels.TheDatacardSR‐CRretransferprinterplug‐in,usedwiththeDatacard
SR‐CRretransfermagneticstripeplug‐in,addsthestartandendsentinels.
