8-22 Troubleshooting

Obtain guidance from service before performing this task.
User’s Guide for the ImageCard® IV Printer
Laminate patch is off the
leading edge of the card.
An overlay patch is on the
driver roller.
The rollers are dirty.
The supply tracker is
slipping.
Machine settings were
changed during service.
Use a cleaning card. See
Chapter 7.

Clean the supply tracker.

Be sure your hands and the
materials used are clean
and free of grease or oil.
Contact your service
representative.
Laminate patch is wrinkled
on the card.
Supply roll is not pushed
firmly onto supply spindle
or take-up spool is not
pushed firmly onto take-up
spindle.
The supply spindle needs
adjustment.
Load the laminate supply
again. See Chapter 3.
Contact your service
representative.
Particles appear between
card and laminate patch.
The inside of the printer is
dirty.
The heated roller is dirty.
The supplies were
mishandled.
The supplies are not
Datacard-recommended.
The printer is being used
in a dirty environment.
Clean the inside of the
printer and use a cleaning
card. See Chapter 7.
Clean the heated roller. See
Chapter 7.
Store supplies in a clean
environment. Keep supplies
in packaging until loaded in
the cartridge. Handle pre-
loaded cartridges carefully
to avoid contamination.
Obtain and use Datacard-
recommended supplies.
Move the printer to a clean
environment or clean the
environment.
