Wireless I/O Extender Users Guide
The Multipoint Parameters can be adjusted for a multipoint Wireless I/O Extender system. Only the commonly used set-
tings are discussed is this section.
Note:The other settings are discussed further in Appendix D.
(0) Number Repeaters
•Set the “Number of Repeaters” to “1” if there are repeaters in the system, this should be set in all of the units in
the system.
(1) Master Packet Repeat
•The number of times that a master will re-broadcast a packet.
•Available options (0-9), the larger the number the more likely a packet is to be received, but the latency is in-
creased.
(2) Max Slave Retry
•The number of times a slave will attempt to send a packet to the master unit, before the remote/slave unit will
wait for a time based on the retry odds setting.
(3) Retry Odds
•The probability of retransmitting, a higher value will have the remote unit more likely to establish a connection
with the master over a remote unit with a lower value.
(5) Repeater Frequency
•Set the “Repeater Frequency” to “1” to use the frequency key set in the repeater.
(6) NetWork ID
•Set the “NetWork ID” for a system. A setting of 255 uses the call book addressing for the system.
•The Network ID must match in all the units and can have only one master and the other units are Remotes or
Repeaters.
(A) Slave/Repeater
•Set the “Slave/Repeater” to “1” for a multipoint repeater that will also at as a remote unit.
•The number of repeaters must be set to “1” or higher in the units in the system.
(C) SubNet ID
•The “SubNet ID” is the receive and transmit sub channels of the unit.
•Set this if it is a NetWork ID system with repeaters, to direct the RF communications path through repeaters or to
the master unit.
Press “ESC” to return to the Main Menu.
Press “ESC” to Exit Setup. (or cycle power to make sure the unit is not in setup mode).
