a. This LED will be green when transmitting a survey page
(approximately every 120 seconds) and will remain lit for
approximately 2 seconds.
b. This LED will go amber when the transmitter detects
another signal on this selected frequency.
c. Be sure to account for any other AlarmView transmitters
that may be sending pages.
9. Turn off the transmitter.
10. The Transmitting Indicator LED should remain dark and not
detect significant RF interference.
11. Proceed to the Range Test using the selected frequency.
Range Test
The purpose of this activity is to determine any areas of no coverage
and ensure that AlarmView transmitters can detect each other.
1. Place an AlarmView transmitter at the furthest extent of one end
of the care unit.
2. Program the transmitter to transmit 150 survey pages every 10
seconds. (See Section 5: Testing and Periodic Maintenance.)
3. Walk slowly around the care unit with an assigned pager to
determine any areas of no reception. Multiple pagers must be
separated from each other by 12 inches to eliminate interference
between pagers.
a. During the walk, observe the sequentially numbered
survey pages from #1 up to #150(or until the care unit
has been sufficiently covered).
