Below is a table of Programmer Error Messages, along with probable
causes, and recommended corrective actions.
Programmer Error Messages
Message Possible Cause Corrective Action
Failed to Connect
Programmer was
unable to retrieve or
send information
to/from transmitter.
Programmer infrared
port not aligned with
transmitter infrared
port.
Transmitter turned off.
Programmer batteries
are low.
Transmitter defective.
Programmer
defective.
Re-align ports and try
again.
Turn on transmitter.
Recharge programmer
batteries.
Contact Data Critical
regarding repair
and/or replacement of
transmitter or
programmer.
Please be sure the
transmitter is turned
on, the IR port is
pointed directly at the
transmitter, at a
distance less than 4 ft.
(1.2 m) and try again.
Programmer infrared
port not aligned with
transmitter infrared
port.
Transmitter turned off.
Programmer batteries
are low.
Transmitter defective.
Programmer
defective.
Re-align ports and try
again.
Turn on transmitter.
