Transmitter
At least every two (2) years, the transmitter’s internal battery
should be tested. To check transmitter battery performance:
1. Turn on the transmitter.
2. Make sure the transmitter’s external power supply is
disconnected.
3. Program the transmitter to send to one pagers.
4. From the SysMgr / Service, start the Range Test (Survey
Paging).
5. Wait until a TX Battery Low / Shutting Down page is
received.
6. If more than 50 Range Test (Survey Paging) pages are
received without the transmitter shutting down, the
battery is OK.
7. If the transmitter has shut down before 50 Range Test
(Survey Paging) pages are received, recharge the
transmitter for 17 hours and repeat #1-#5 above. If the
transmitter then shuts down before 20 pages are
received, the battery needs to be replaced. Return the
transmitter to Data Critical.
Programmer
To recharge programmer main battery pack and replace
programmer backup battery, refer to Appendix B: Basic
Programmer Functions in AlarmView System User’s Guide.
If the main battery warning message is displayed, recharge the
main battery as soon as possible. If both the backup battery and
main batteries are depleted programmer software and data will be
lost.
