Patient Channel Tile
Patient channels display the patient’s name and other identifying information, current
monitored parameters and data, alarms and waveforms. See “Admit, Discharge, and
Patient Demographic Information” on page 73 for more information.
Patient channels are composed of the following:
• the patient information block, which comprises the main block and the config-
urable data block
• the record button
• the waveform area

Main Block Information
The main block shows the following patient information:
• room number/nursing unit (if configured)
Note: You can alternate between nursing unit, room number, and a scrolling mar-
quee of both by clicking the room number/nursing unit box. This option is
configurable; check with your system administrator if you are unable to
change the room/nursing unit value that is displayed.
• heart rate (the pulse rate in the patient block is displayed in green and white
for ventilator patients)
• arrhythmia or implant indicator: BEDAR if the bedside monitor performs
arrhythmia processing, AROFF if arrhythmia is turned off, or implant type
• rhythm indicator, which appears as green, yellow, or red depending on
arrhythmia beat quality.
Note: The rhythm indicator will flash in the patient tile when it turns red.
