Risk of eye damage. At all times when handlingoptical fibers, follow the safety procedures recommended by yourcompany.AVERTISSEMENT ! Risque de blessure aux yeux. Lors de lamanipulation de fibres optiques, suivez en permanence lesprocédures de sécurité recommandées par votre société.Although Zhone optical products have a Class I certification, hazardousexposure to laser radiation can occur when fibers are connected, disconnectedor broken. Handling of optical fibers without dust caps increases the risk ofexposure. Exposure to either visible or invisible laser light can damage youreyes under certain conditions.1 Remove the fiber service cover by removing the fiber service screw andthen sliding the fiber service cover forward (toward the connection panelof the zNID).Using your thumb push on the raised marking on the fiber service cover toslide it off.For a new unit the fiber service cover will be in a bag, so you will notneed to do this step.Figure 13: zNID-GPON-24xx model uses SC/APC connector (green)
