Operation WARNING Read and understand this Operator’s Manual carefully before attempting to operate the Danuser Earth Auger. You are responsible for furnishing this manual to others who may use the unit. If you have any questions regarding the proper assembly, installation, or operation of this earth auger, contact your dealer or Danuser LLC. DANGER Serious injury or death can result from misuse of this equipment.
Operation (continued) STEP 6: The hydraulic flow rate or pressure should not exceed the earth auger’s specified maximums. The hydraulic minimums must be met to deliver satisfactory performance. Use only enough down pressure to assure positive penetration of the auger into the ground. Ease up on down pressure if auger rotation slows down drastically or stalls. Excessive down pressure will cause the auger to frequently stall.
Troubleshooting PROBLEM Slow Speed POSSIBLE CAUSE a) Low flow SOLUTION Check with flow meter. If low, investigate the cause. b) Fittings or connections are too small or incompatible c) Line restrictions d) Dirty oil or oil filter Replace with proper fittings. Clear lines. Change oil and oil filter according to vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation. e) Hydraulic pump worn See your dealer for repairs.
Maintenance VIEW FROM BOTTOM OF DRIVE UNIT Motor fittings DAILY CHECK PLANETARY GEAR OIL LEVEL Check oil level daily to assure proper lubrication is maintained. Check by removing oil level plug - with the drive unit horizontal and the oil level plug facing up. Roll the drive unit slowly and oil should start to seep out at approximately two o'clock. See figure at left. CHECK FOR CLEAN HYDRAULIC OIL The majority of all hydraulic component failures are caused by contamination of the hydraulic oil.
