®
Tools required: #2 Phillips Head Screwdriver
I. Removal of Old Handle - Figures 1, 2
1. Shut off water supply to tub/shower faucet. This may require shutting off the main water supply to the house or facility. Once the water supply is shut off, turn on the
faucet to allow the water pressure to be released, then reclose faucet.
2. If the old handle is a metal lever-style handle, skip to step 3. If the old handle is acrylic, remove the handle index button (A) from the old handle (Fig. 1). Remove
handle screw (B) and handle (C) and discard. Go to Correct Valve Identification.
3. Remove the old metal handle (Fig. 2) per manufacturer’s instructions. Go to Correct Valve Identification.
IV. Installation of Handle - Figure 6
(Valve Types A and B) Fig. 6
1. Place metal lever handle (D) over handle adapter (F/G). Lever should point downward. Using the Allen head shoulder screw (E), pass through handle (D) and screw
into handle adapter (F/G) from the underside of the handle. Secure in place using the provided Allen head wrench.
(Valve Type C) Fig. 6
1. Using screw (L), secure handle adapter (J) to valve stem with screw driver.
2. Place metal lever handle (D) over handle adapter (J). Lever should be pointing to the right.
Using the Allen head shoulder screw (E), pass through handle (D) and screw into handle
adapter (J) from the right side of the handle. Secure in place using the provided Allen head wrench.
II. Correct Valve Identification - Figure 3
1. After the old handle has been removed, refer to Fig. 3 to determine the correct valve.
• Valve Type A 600 Series with #212 Ball uses a stem that is diamond shaped on
the end.
• Valve Type B 600 Series with #70 Ball uses a stem that is round on the end.
• Valve Types A & B operate by rotating the handle up to turn on the water.
A. Handle Adapter for Valve Type A or Type B - Figure 4
1. Locate handle adapters (F/G) for Valve Type A & B (Fig. 3). Determine which
adapter to use based on which will fit on the valve stem.
2. Partially thread set screw (H) in to handle adapter (F/G) that fits on the valve
stem (Fig. 4)
3. Slide handle adapter on to valve stem, making sure that the valve stem is fully
seated in the adapter. Align the handle adapter to where the set screw (H) is
pointing down. Secure the set screw (H) to valve stem.
B. Handle Adapter for Valve Type C - Figure 5
1. Locate handle adapter (J) for Valve Type C (Fig. 3).
2. Slide handle adapter (J) for valve type C on the valve stem, making sure that
the adapter is oriented in the 3 o’clock position as shown. Do NOT secure the
handle adapter (J) to valve stem.
