Figure 3-1 Model N rear panel connectors
The DANTE–ADAT switch selects whether the input is derived from the DANTE (up posi-
tion) or
ADAT (down position) connectors. In the ADAT position, the LINK connectors
are re-purposed to carry eight additional ADAT channels with a software switch (see
below).
Dante and Network
Dante connections can carry up to 64 audio channels. You can select a block of chan-
nels for Dugan processing. Dante primary and secondary network connectors pro-
vide two independent network connections. If the primary network fails, the Dante
system automatically switches to the secondary network.
The four network connectors can be configured in four combinations:
• Three Networks: Redundant Dante and Control (with Daisy Chain)
This is the default setting that corresponds to the rear panel labels.
• Two Networks: Dante and Control (both with Daisy Chain)
• Two Networks: Redundant Dante (Control on Primary)
• Single Network
These configurations are made from the front panel (see page 58).
ADAT
In the default configuration, one pair of ADAT connectors is used for the I/O of eight
audio channels. The second pair is used to link Dugan units.
