Dugan Model E-3A User Guide Installation

Model E-3A Modes
The Model E-3A has a mode switch that controls whether to use AES or ADAT as your
primary I/O. When set to AES mode however, the AES and ADAT channels can operate
simultaneously. This can yield up to 32 automix channels. In ADAT mode, AES
channels will not appear in the Dugan Control Panel.
NOTE: Unprocessed splits of the input signals are always present on the outputs of the unused
I/O connectors. These can be sent to a multitrack recorder.
Select only the number of channels you need for automixing. This will simplify the
Dugan Control Panel display, maximize your I/O, and retain flexibility to manage
your other requirements, such as mirroring inputs to outputs, linking, and mix buses.
NOTE: It is not necessary to select channels here that you plan to use for mix bus outputs.
AES Mode
You can choose:
• 8 channels (1–8)
• any number of additional AES channels up to 16
Sixteen additional automix channels are available using the ADAT I/O:
• 8 channels using ADAT I/O (AUD IN 1–8) for a total of 24
• 8 channels using ADAT I/O (AUD IN 9–16) for a total of 32
To choose the number of automix channels:
1. Navigate to MENU on the front panel, and press ENTER.
2. Select Channels Setup and press ENTER.
3. Navigate to AES Channels, turn the knob to select one of the following: 8, 9...16.
4. If you need more channels, continue to turn the knob to add 8 or 16 ADAT channels.
5. When you navigate away from this screen, you will be prompted to confirm your
setting.
