Important information
Caution
This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product
and the hazards involved. We recommend you use a licenced electrician.
This low voltage cabinet light is suitable for mounting inside cabinet, under kitchen cabinet, furniture, shelf, display case and accent lighting.
Use only 24V DC LED driver supplied by Dainolite to max 96W for Class II installations. Do not use the full capacity of driver. We recommend 80%
capacity usage. Following these guidelines will prolong the useful life of driver and LED light.
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, follow these guidelines:
a) Use only insulated staples or plastic ties to secure cords.
b) Route and secure cords so that they will not be pinched or damaged when the cabinet is pushed to wall or permanently attached to the wall.
c) This product is not intended for recessed installation in ceilings or soffits.
d) The National Electrical Code (NEC) does not permit most LVT cords to be concealed where damage to insulation may go unnoticed. To
prevent fire danger, do not run cord behind walls, ceilings, soffits or cabinets where it may be inaccessible for examination. Cords should be
examined periodically and immediately replaced when any damage is noted.
Dainolite Ltd. offers a special cord model CMG18/16T that can be used to go behind walls and ceilings.
This cord meets NEC / UL / CSA standards.
e) This product may represent a possible shock or fire hazard if improperly installed. Install in accordance with these instructions, current
electrical codes and / or the current National Electric Code (NEC). Disconnect power prior to installation.
f) This product has no serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open.
g) Do not use luminaire with a damaged lens, body or cable.
Recessed mounting installation
1) Drill 57mm (2.25”) hole for puck light
2) Feed the LED puck wire with male connector through mounting hole and connect to female connector of wire harness (DLST42 four connector wire
harness – purchased separately).
3) Do not cut off connectors and use marrets. This action will void the warranty. Use multiple (4) connector harness DLST42 (purchased separately) or
single unit harness DLST42-5 (purchased separately).
4) Push puck into hole. The spring clips will hold the puck in place firmly!
5) Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the remaining pucks to be installed. Then follow the steps “Power up your lights”
6) Maximum number of pucks on one Class II installation is 19 (using 96 Watt Class II driver)
Surface mount installation
1) To surface mount PLED-04 use distance ring DR-PLED-XX (purchased separately).
Using distance ring, installer has two options
Pass wire through surface. Drill 16mm (5/8”) hole. Attach distance ring with two screws provided. We recommend pre-drilling 1.6mm (1/16”)
pilot hole to help set the screw. Push puck into distance ring. Springs will hold the puck in place firmly.
Exposed wires on surface. Attach distance ring with two screws provided. We recommend pre-drilling16mm (1/16”) pilot hole to help set screw.
Before attaching distance ring to surface, feed wire from puck light through “wire-way opening”. Make sure wire does not get crimped during
installation. Tighten distance ring to surface then push puck into distance ring. Springs will hold the puck in place firmly.
2) Do not cut off connectors and use marrets. This action will void warranty. Use multiple (4) connector harness DLST42 (purchased separately) or
single unit harness DLST42-5 (purchased separately).
3) Repeat A or B for remaining pucks to be installed.
Position distance ring so that the wire-way openings align - all facing the back of the cabinet. Maximum number of pucks on one Class II installation
is 19 (using 96Watt Class II driver)
4) Follow steps for “Power up your Lights”
