Troubleshooting 231
7.4 Compressor Motor Lock
Error Code
E5
Method of Error
Detection
The position signal is taken from UVW line, and the malfunction is detected when any abnormality
is observed in the phase-current waveform.
Error Decision
Conditions
When the compressor motor does not start up even in forced startup mode
Supposed
Causes
Compressor lock
High differential pressure (0.5 MPa (167 ftAq) or more)
Incorrect UVW wiring
Defective outdoor unit PCB
Stop valve left closed
Troubleshooting
Check the installation
conditions.
Is the stop valve
open?
Are the UVW
wirings normal?
Is high
differential
pressure starting? (0.5
MPa (167 ftAq)
or more)
Are
inverter output
voltages the same for 3
phases?
Does
low or high
pressure vary even
instantaneously when
restarting
compressor?
Check if
the compressor is
short circuited or
grounded.
Open the stop valve.
Connect them correctly.
Remedy the cause.
Replace the compressor.
Replace the main PCB
(A1P).
Replace the main PCB
