STARTING SYSTEM

● the brush spring, and then remove the brush.

● Measure the brush length. Replace the brush if it is

worn beyond the service limit.

SERVICE LIMIT: 6.5 MM

NOTE

•If replacement, replace with a brush holder set.

● Check the commutator for

- Damage or abnormal wear.

Replace with a

new one.

- Discoloration of the commuttor bar.

→

Replace

with a ne one.

- Metalic debris between commutator bars

→

Clean it off

● For continuity between pairs of commutator bars.

- Make a continuity check between individual

commutator bars and the armature shaft.

- There should be no continuity.

● Check the needle bearing and oil seal.

- Do not rotate smoothly.

→

Replace with a new

one.

- Damage oil seal.

→

Replace with a new one.
