Helpful Hints
s The primary function of a hood is to capture or collect the cooking
vapors, smoke and heat that result from cooking.
s The larger the hood the mor
e “capture area” so height, width and
depth coverage determine its performance.
s The hood’s width should extend by least 3 inches on each side for
optimum capture coverage. Example: For a 30” range, a 30” hood
will work fine but a 36” hood will give optimum performance. Available
space is often the determining factor when considering hood size.
s The depth of a hood should extend from the wall out to the front
edge o
f the fr
ont burner.
s Optimum mounting height is 30” from top of cooking surface.
s Make sure to find out if your customer is using an internal or
remote blower.
