Basic Problems
If you press the power button too long, the
LCD backlight may be turned off. In that
case, press-and-hold the power button
again to turn the backlight back on.
The screen may be dark because the LCD
backlight level is set too low. Tap Start >
Programs > Utility > Backlight and adjust
the backlight level.

The backlight may be turned off in the
Automatic Backlight Off Mode. To keep the
backlight always on, tap Start > Settings >
Control Panel > Display. And tap the
Backlight tab and uncheck
The display screen may not be calibrated
properly. Tap Start > Settings > Control
Panel > Stylus. And tap Calibration tab and
recalibrate the screen.

input error
If the screen does not respond to a double-
tap, tap Start > Settings > Control Panel >
Stylus. And tap the Double-Tap tab and
adjust the Double-Tap Grid.
The program may become slow due to too
many programs running at the same time.
Reduce the number of running programs.

speed
The program speed may be slow due to
insufficient program memory of DOT 400.
Tap Start > Settings > Control Panel >
System. And tap Memory tab and expand
the program memory area with the slide
bar. If the storage memory area occupies
too much space, back up the programs in
the storage area to the PC or the CF
memory card to empty the storage area,
and expand the program memory area.
Power
failure of
DOT 400
even when
connected
DOT 400 may be automatically turned off if
the battery is discharged completely. In
that case, recharge the battery for about
thirty minutes and then turn on the power.
Continue to recharge the battery.
