Reset Button
Software Reset: If you have any unexpected problems with your
DOT 400 software, click the Reset button on the bottom of your
DOT 400. Then you will see the initial display screen. The screen
will display the Microsoft Windows CE.NET logo, and it will display
the main window (If you have set your own password, the
password input window will be displayed. Once you enter the
correct password, DOT 400 will display the main window). In the
Software Reset mode, only currently running programs will be
closed. Although you may lose the current data or files, the data
and files saved previously will not be affected.
Hardware Reset: When there is a serious problem with DOT 400
which cannot be fixed by software reset, you must restart DOT
400 by hardware reset. Press-and-hold the Reset button for more
than 4 seconds to cut off the power supply of DOT 400. And then
click the Reset button again, DOT 400 enters into Hardware Reset
Mode and loads images in Flash ROM to SDRAM. In four or five
seconds, the D.O.Tel company logo and progress bar will start to
appear. You can check the loading status with this progress bar.
After the images are loaded, the main window appears.
1. When performing software reset, be aware that clicking the Reset
button for more than 1 second may trigger hardware reset..
2. In the hardware reset mode, all data, files, programs, and PIMs
data created in DOT 400 or transferred from your desktop PC will
be erased. To avoid data loss from unexpected problems, it is
recommended to backup all data and files created in DOT 400 to
desktop PC, and PIMs data to Flash ROM or CF Flash Memory card
(for more information, see PIMs Backup).
