• If you set your record type to Motion or other related types, you must define the
Motion Detection alarm in order to trigger motion recording. See “Motion
detection alarm” on page 56 for more information.
• If record type is Alarm or other related types, you must define alarms to trigger
alarm recording. See “
Alarm settings” below for more information.
Alarm settings
Use the Alarms screen to define how the TVR 10 handles alarms. You can select how
the alarm settings should be handled such as:
• An external alarm input
• An internal alarm input
• Notification settings
Click Alarms on the main menu to display the Alarms screen as shown in Figure 25
below.

To set up an external alarm input:
1. Select an alarm input in the Alarm Input box.
2. Select an input type in the Input Type box.
Alarm input type refers to the sensor type. You can select Normal Open or Normal
Close according to the sensor type.
3. Enable the alarm input.
