Section 3 - Configuration
To use the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP
™
)
feature, tick the Enable UPNP box. UPNP
provides compatibility with networking
equipment, software, and peripherals.
De-selecting this check box will not allow the
DIR-604 to respond to pings. Blocking the Ping
may provide some extra security from hackers.
Tick the check box to allow the Internet port
to be “pinged”.
You may set the port speed of the Internet
port to 10Mbps, 100Mbps, or 10/100Mbps
Auto. Some older cable or DSL modems may
require you to set the port speed to 10Mbps.
Tick the Enable Multicast Streams check
box to allow multicast trafc to pass through
the Router from the Internet.
Tick the Wireless Enhance Mode check box
to enable the Router to forward all multicast
streams from the Internet to the wireless
station using a unicast stream. This feature
helps improve the quality of multimedia
applications for wireless users.
