Conguring a Notication Target
A notication target is a remote device to which MSS sends SNMP notications.
You can congure the MSS SNMP engine to send conrmed notications (informs) or
unconrmed notications (traps). Some of the command options differ depending on the
SNMP version and the type of notication you specify. You can congure up to 10 notication
targets.
To congure a notication target for informs from SNMPv3, use the following command:
set snmp notify target target-num ip-addr[:udp-port-number]
usm inform user username
snmp-engine-id {ip | hex hex-string}
[prole profile-name]
[security {unsecured | authenticated | encrypted}]
[retries num]
[timeout num]
To congure a notication target for traps from SNMPv3, use the following command:
set snmp notify target target-num ip-addr[:udp-port-number]
usm trap user username
[prole profile-name]
[security {unsecured | authenticated | encrypted}]
