Section 7 - Home
LAN
You can configure the DSL Modem IP address
and Subnet Mask for the LAN interface.
You can also enable or disable UPnP. UPnP
(Universal Plug and Play) allows compatable
devices to communicate and control each other.
For example, certain software may use UPnP
to open ports on your modem automatically to
communicate with the internet.
If you will be multicasting (e.g. video streaming)
you can enable IGMP snooping. IGMP
snooping allows the modem to efficiently
determine where the multicast traffic came
from and where it is headed. There are two
IGMP snooping options: standard or blocking
mode.
If you want the DHCP server to automatically
assign IP addresses, select enable DHCP
server and enter the range of IP addresses that
the DHCP server can assign. Select Disable
DHCP server if you would like to manually
assign IP addresses.
The Save button only saves the LAN
configuration data, but does not apply the
configuration. Select the Save/Reboot button
to save the LAN configuration data, reboot the
modem and apply the new configuration.
