Conﬁgure WPA/WPA2 (EAP)

It is recommended to enable encryption on your wireless router before your wireless network adapters. Please establish

wireless connectivity before enabling encryption. Your wireless signal may degrade when enabling encryption due to the

added overhead. You can congure the DIR-685 to use the 802.1x protocol by enabling the Extensible Authentication

Protocol (EAP). Carry out the following steps to congure EAP on the DIR-685:

1. Log into the web-based conguration by opening a web browser

and entering the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Click on

Setup and then click Wireless Setup on the left side.

2. Click the Manual Wireless Connection Setup button.

3. Next to Security Mode, select Enable WPA/WPA2 Wireless

Security (enhanced).

4. Next to Cypher Type, select TKIP, AES, or Both.

5. Next to PSK / EAP select EAP from the drop-down menu.

6. Next to RADIUS Server IP Address, enter the IP address of your

RADIUS Server.

7. Enter the port used by your RADIUS Server in the Port eld.

8. Enter the Shared Secret used by your RADIUS Server in the Shared Secret eld.

9. Click Save Settings to save your settings.
