Using the Configuration Menu
Advanced > Performance > 802.11a
Wireless
Performance-
select 802.11a or 802.11b+. Here, 802.11a has been
chosen. This screen displays the wireless performance
features of the Access Point portion of the DI-754.
Fragmentation-
this value should also remain at its default setting of 2346. The
Fragmentation threshold, which is specified in bytes, determines
whether packets will be fragmented. Packets exceeding the
2346 byte setting will be fragmented before transmission.
RTS Threshold-
Request to Send threshold measures the value in bytes. Any
packet size exceeding 2346 will trigger the DI-754 to use RTS/
CTS mechanism for transmission.
Beacon interval-
beacons are packets sent by an Access Point to synchronize a
wireless network. Specify a value. 100 is the default setting
and is recommended.
Data Rate-
best is the default selection
Transmit Power-
full is the default selection.
Shared Key -
in this mode, in order to access the DI-754 on the network, the
device must be listed in the MAC Address Control List
Apply- click Apply to save the changes
Open System -
the DI-754 will be visible to all devices on the network. This is
the default setting
Authentication-
select Open system or Shared Key
DTIM interval-
(Delivery Traffic Indication Message) 1 is the default setting. A
DTIM is a countdown informing clients of the next window for
listening to broadcast and multicast messages.
