DGS-3024 Layer 2 Switch CLI Reference Manual
config ssh user
hostbased – This parameter should be chosen if the user
wishes to use a remote SSH server for authentication purposes.
Choosing this parameter requires the user to input the following
information to identify the SSH user.
hostname <string 32> - Enter an alphanumeric string of
up to 31 characters identifying the remote SSH user.
hostname_IP <string 32> <ipaddr> - Enter the
hostname and the corresponding IP address of the SSH user.
password – This parameter should be chosen to use an
administrator defined password for authentication. Upon entry of
this command, the Switch will prompt the user for a password, and
then to retype the password for confirmation.
publickey – This parameter should be chosen to use the
publickey on a SSH server for authentication.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure the SSH user:
DGS-3024:4# config ssh user Trinity authmode Password
Command: config ssh user Trinity authmode Password
Success.

show ssh user authmode
Purpose Used to display the SSH user setting.
Syntax
show ssh user authmode
Description This command allows users to display the current SSH user setting.
Parameters None.
Restrictions None.
Example usage:
To display the SSH user:
DGS-3024:4#show ssh user authmode
Command: show ssh user authmode

Note: To configure the SSH user, the administrator must create a user account
on the Switch. For information concerning configuring a user account, please
see the section of this manual entitled Basic Switch Commands and then the
command, create user account.
