Figure 7- 5. Ping Test
The user may use Infinite times checkbox, in the Repeat Pinging for: field, which will tell the ping program to
keep sending ICMP Echo packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. The user may opt to
choose a specific number of times to ping the Target IP Address by clicking its radio button and entering a
number between 1 and 255. Click Start to initiate the Ping program.
Save Changes
The DGS-3324SR has two levels of memory; normal RAM and non-volatile or NV-RAM. Configuration
changes are made effective clicking the Apply button. When this is done, the settings will be immediately
applied to the switching software in RAM, and will immediately take effect.
Some settings, though, require you to restart the Switch before they will take effect. Restarting the Switch erases
all settings in RAM and reloads the stored settings from the NV-RAM. Thus, it is necessary to save all setting
changes to NV-RAM before rebooting the switch.
To retain any configuration changes permanently, click on the Save button in the Save Changes page, as shown
below.

The Switch has three levels of save, which are as follows:
Parameter Description
Save (Only save
config)
Clicking the radio button for this entry will save only the current switch
configuration to NV-RAM.
