This section describes the features and benefits of DCS-1000W
Simple to Use
DCS-1000W is a standalone system with built-in CPU requiring no special
hardware or software such as PC frame grabber cards. DCS-1000W supports
both ActiveX mode for Internet Explorer and Java mode for Internet Explorer
and Netscape Navigator. Therefore, all that is required is a computer with a
web browser software such as Internet Explorer 4.0 or above or Netscape 4.0
or above. Just plug and view the picture from your DCS-1000W with a valid
IP Address.
Supports a Variety of Platforms
Supporting TCP/IP networking, SMTP e-mail, HTTP and other Internet
related protocols. The DCS-1000W can be utilized in a mixed operating
system environment such as Windows, Unix, and Macintosh. It can also be
integrated easily into other Internet/Intranet applications because of its
standards based features.
Wired and Wireless Network Support
The DCS-1000W supports both wired and wireless transmission providing the
advantage of mobility, flexibility and high-speed of wireless LAN based
technology, IEEE 802.11b, to transform DCS-1000W into a total solution for
your network. There are three modes available configured from the slide
switch on the rear panel.
• LAN (Local Area Network Only)
• LAN/WLAN (Local Area Network and Wireless Local Area Network.
Both can be accessed at the same time.)
• WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network Only)
