Configuring alert email
In NAT mode go to IDS > Alert Email .
In Transparent mode go to System > Config > Alert Mail .
In the SMTP Server field, enter the name of the SMTP server to which the DFL-500 should send email.
The SMTP server can be located on the internal network or on the Internet.
In the SMTP User field, enter the email address of a valid user of the SMTP server (for example,
user@D-Link.com).
This is the address that the mail will originate from.
Enter up to 3 destination email addresses in the Email To fields.
These are the email addresses that the DFL-500 sends email alerts to.
Click Apply to save the email alert settings.
Make sure that the DNS server settings are correct for the DFL-500. See Setting DNS server addresses
.
Because the DFL-500 uses the SMTP server name to connect to the mail server, it must be able to look
up this name on your DNS server.

Testing email alerts
You can test your email alert settings by sending a test email.
Go to System > Config > Alert Mail .
Click Test to send test email messages from the DFL-500.
