Section 1 - Product Overview Introduction The DCH-B122 Smart Motion Sensor is a wireless sensor that connects to the DCS-8330LH Smart Full HD Wi-Fi Camera as well as other mydlink Smart DIY devices with built-in hub functionality. You can install the device in places you want to detect motion. If the sensor is triggered, it will send push notifications to your mobile device, which helps you keep tabs on your home while you are away.

Section 2 - Installation Installation Safety Please read all of the safety and operating instructions before using your device: • • • • Do not open the device or attempt to repair or service it. Use the device in a dry location, and avoid placing it in a humid environment. Do not submerge the device in liquid or attempt to clean it with liquids or solvents. To clean the device, remove the battery and use a damp towel to wipe it. This device should only be used indoors.
Section 2 - Installation Wireless Installation Considerations The DCH-B122 Smart Motion Sensor connects to your network using a wireless connection from virtually anywhere within the operating range of your mydlink Smart DIY hub device. Keep in mind that the number, thickness and location of walls, ceilings, or other objects that the wireless signals must pass through may limit the range.
Section 2 - Installation Precautions Caution: Make sure that the sensor is not directly facing the sun or a source of heat. Proper Placement: Place the sensor at least 8 feet or higher from the ground. The maximum distance of the motion detection is 16 feet. 8 ft 16 ft max Improper Placement: Do not place the sensor directly on top of a surface or in a spot where there is something directly below it, obstructing its view.
Section 2 - Installation mydlink App Device Setup 1 / 2 / Download the mydlink app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) by scanning the QR code. Launch the mydlink app and create a new account or sign in to your existing account. Note: On iOS devices, the app will pop up a permission request to send notifications.
Section 2 - Installation 3 After logging in, tap the Menu button 4 Select Add New Device. / / in the top-left corner. Note: Ensure your mydlink Smart DIY hub device is setup first. For more information on mydlink Smart DIY, please visit: dlink.com/SmartDIY Note: On Android, If you are asked about allowing the app to access your location, select Allow. Make sure location services are turned on in your phone’s settings.
Section 2 - Installation 5 / When asked to scan a Setup Code, press Next. Scan the setup code on the bottom of the sensor. 6 / Follow the onscreen instructions to establish a connection to the device. Choose the Device Location of your device and (optionally) a Designated Contact. Tap Next when all items have been determined.
Section 2 - Installation 7 / Tap OK to conclude the setup process. Congratulations, your DCH-B122 Smart Motion Sensor is now ready to use! Note: If you experience issues registering this sensor with your mydlink account, or if you purchased an open box or resold unit, perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the reset button on the device until the status LED blinks red.
Section 3 - mydlink Using the mydlink App To access the device page: • From the home page, tap Accessing Your Device > Devices > Sensor > navigate to your sensor on the carousel > The device page contains several options for you to configure your sensor.
Section 3 - mydlink 1 Device Photo Tap to add a customized photo of this device. 2 Device Name Tap to change the device’s name. 3 Device Location 4 Paired Hub Displays the hub that the sensor is currently connected to. To change it, please factory reset the device. 1 5 Designated Contact Tap here to add, remove, or edit designated contacts that appear in the rich notification. 2 6 MAC ID 7 Remove Device Tap to change or add a new location for this device.
Section 4 - Troubleshooting Troubleshooting How can I access my device remotely through the Internet? In order to use your device remotely through the Internet using the mydlink app, you must register your device with a mydlink account. You can do this using the free mydlink app. Please go to Using the mydlink App on page 11 for more information. Why is my sensor not being triggered? Place the sensor at least 8 feet or higher from the ground. The maximum distance of the motion detection is 16 feet.
