How to check your IP addr ess?
After you install your network adapt er , by default , the TCP/IP settings
should be set to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server (i.e. wireless
router) aut oma tically . To verify your IP addr ess , please follow the steps
belo w .
Click on S tar t > Run. In the run box type cmd and click OK .
At the pr ompt , type ipconfig and press En t er .
This will display the IP addr ess , subnet mask , and the default ga t ew a y of
your adapt er .
If the address is 0.0.0.0, check your adapter installation, security settings ,
and the settings on your r out er . S ome firewall sof t w ar e programs may
block a DHCP request on newly installed adapt ers .
If you are connecting to a wireless network at a hotspot (e.g. hot el , coffee shop , airport), please contact an employee or administrator to verify
their
wireless network settings .
