FTDI’s range USB to RS-232 evaluation cable which can be used for testing the functionality of the FT232R device and drivers prior to
design-in.
The UC232R-10 is capable of communication rates with RS-232 devices from 300 Baud up to 230k Baud. A 10cm USB cable is fitted.
The US232R-10, US232R-100, are FTDI’s premium version USB to RS-232 evaluation cables. The electronics, including the FT232RQ chip
are housed in a glossy white enclosure with blue, side-lit LED Tx and Rx traffic indicators. A matching white 10cm (for US232R-10), or
1m (for US232R-100), or 5m (for US232R-500) USB cable uses gold plated USB and DB9 connectors. Complete with Microsoft WHQL
certified VCP drivers for Windows XP, Apple Mac, and Linux. Using an enhanced RS-232 level converter, these USB to RS-232
evaluation cables are capable of communication rates from 300 Baud to 1M Baud.
The converter cables are a family of USB to RS-232 or RS-422 or RS-485 levels serial UART converter cables incorporating FTDI’s
FT232RQ which handles all the USB signalling and protocols. The cables provide a fast, simple way to connect devices with a serial
UART interface to USB.
Each converter cable includes the FT232R, which is encapsulated into the USB connector end of the cable. RS-232 or RS-422 or RS-485
level shifter plus Tx and Rx functionality.
LEDs give a visual indication of traffic on the cable. The other end of the cable is bare, tinned wire ended connections. Optional power
supply output on the Red wire is either zero or 5 Volts.

Uses an FT232RQ device which is housed inside the USB ’A’
connector. Featuring I/O pins configured to operate at 5V or
3.3V TTL levels. Cables are 1.8m (6 ft) long and available in
several termination options including SIL6 0.1in pitch
connector, 3.5mm audio jack plug, 8-way 2mm keyed
connector or wire-ended.
These converter PCBs use an FT232RQ device housed
inside the USB ’A’ connector. The PCB provides access to
the Transmit (Tx), Receive (Rx), RATS#, and CTS# , VCC
(5V) and GND. The TTL-232R-3V3-PCB version has I/O pins
configured to operate at 3.3V levels.

The UB232R is the smallest USB - Serial module in the FTDI
product range. To minimise the size of the module, the UB232R
uses a standard USB mini-B connector. It is ideal for new
development purposes and also for adding a USB interface to
existing product designs. Based on the FT232RQ device, the
UB232R supports RTS/CTS hardware handshaking and is powered
from the USB port. Serial data communication is possible at up to
3MBaud at TTL level.

PCB designed to fit a 24 pin DIP socket, and provides access to all
