This Embedded Development Platform (EDP) Baseboard (or
“motherboard”) consists of two "stations", with a minimum
configuration of motherboard with a single plug-in processor
module. Both stations are identical, and there are many
permutations of processor modules and application modules
possible. Even with just the minimum configuration you can
easily run a web-server through the standard on-board
Ethernet connection.
mbed is a tool for rapid prototyping with microcontrollers. A
special feature is on-line code compilation available from
the mbed website http://mbed.org when registered.
The Embedded Development Platform (EDP) Baseboard (or
“motherboard”) consists of four "stations", with a minimum
configuration of motherboard with a single plug-in processor
module. All four stations are identical, and there are many
permutations of processor modules and application modules
possible. Even with just the minimum configuration you can
easily run a web-server through the standard on-board
Ethernet connection. The more advanced user will discover
that it is possible to run more than one EDP processor

for the NXP LPC1113 ARM Cortex-M0 microcontroller
including support devices. These 32-bit devices combine the
cost benefits of 8-bit and 16-bit devices with the flexibility and
performance of 32-bit devices at extremely low power
consumption. The architecture delivers state of the art
implementations for FPGAs and SoCs. With the Thumb
instruction set, Cortex-M0 based microcontrollers support a
4GB address space, provide bit-addressing (bit-banding), and
several interrupts with at least 8 interrupt priority levels.
Classification Module
Technology Ethernet
A USB to RS-232 bridge converter which is simple, very small and
easy to use. It uses a mini-B type USB connector to connect to a
PC and is based on the CP2102 Bridge from Silicon Labs. It
provides the user with multi baud rate serial data and access to
flow control signals in a convenient 10 pin 0.1” pitch Dual-In-Line
package.
