CONNECTING THE BASE UNIT
Connecting Telephone line cord(s)
Your SBC373 2-Line phone will operate no m atter
whether you connect 1 or 2 telephone lines. If you
have 2 Lines com ing out of a Single W all Jack,
connect a 4-wire (RJ-14) m odular phone cord
between the wall jack and the phone jack labeled L1 &
L2. If you have 2 lines com ing out of Separate W all
Jacks, connect 2 phone cords with 2 wires from each
wall jack to the phone jack labeled L1 only or L1 Data
& L2 only or L2 Data.
If you would like to connect to 1 line only, connect a cord with 2 wires to either L1 only
or L1 Data or L2 only or L2 Data.
Connecting Power Supply
1. Plug the AC adapter into the 9V DC jack on the base and the other end into a
standard 120V AC wall outlet.
2. Press the cords in the slot on the housing to prevent the cords from pulling loose.
3. Set the base unit on a tabletop and then place the handset on the base unit.
Note:
1. Use only the power cord and batteries indicated in this m anual. Do not dispose of
batteries in a fire. They m ay explode. Check with local codes for possible special
disposal instructions.
2. Connect the AC adapter to a continuous power outlet.
3. Plug the adaptor to the socket-outlet that near the equipm ent and shall be easily
accessible.
Tip:
If your telephone outlet is not m odular, contact your telephone com pany for assistance.
SPARE / BACK UP BATTERY
The extra battery will enable the phone function norm ally during an electrical outage.
You can also use the spare battery pack to replace a drained handset battery to ensure
uninterrupted use.
1. Open the spare battery com partm ent by pressing
the release button on the right side of the base unit.
2. Place a battery pack in the drawer with the charge
contacts facing up and to the left.
3. Close the drawer. Make sure the Spare Battery
LED lights, and charging begins.
4. The LED lights until the battery is rem oved from the
com partm ent.
