FCC Requirements
This unit accords with 47 CFR Part 68 of FCC rules and the requirements adopted by the
ACTA. At the bottom of this unit is a label that contains, among other information, a product
identifier in the format US: CACTX00B301001. If requested, this number must be provided to
the telephone company. FCC ID: CAC301001
The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone
line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to
an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0).
To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the
total RENs, contact the local telephone company. [For products approved after July 23, 2001,
the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that has the format US:
CACTX00B301001. The digits represented by 00B are the REN without a decimal point (e.g.,
03B is a REN of 0.3B). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.]
This unit has also been tested to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to
Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. This unit generates, uses, and can radiate
radio frequency energy, and any installation or use not in accordance with the instructions may
cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this unit does cause harmful
interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment
off or on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
z Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
z Increase the distance between the equipment and receiver.
z Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver
is connected.
z Consult the dealer or an experienced radio / TV technician for help.

If your home has a specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure
the installation of this unit does not disable or interfere with your alarm equipment. Should you
have questions regarding the proper installation and use with your alarm equipment, consult
your telephone company or a qualified installer.
If your equipment should cause harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may
require your temporarily disconnection of your service. When notice in advance is unavailable,
the telephone company itself may temporarily discontinue your service without notification if
such action is necessary under said circumstances, the telephone company may make
changes in communication facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures when such action
is reasonably required in the operation of business and does not conflict with the rules and
regulations of the Federal Communications Commission.
