Profile Name
The profile sett ing allows you to save different configurations for
different working environm ents. The “ default ” pr ofile contains the init ial
configurat ion sett ing when you install the car d. You can creat e a new profile by
select ing
New Entry
from the
Profile Name
drop down box. The box will have a
blinking cursor in it for you to t ype in a new nam e. Perform all t he necessary
wireless configuration changes, t hen click
Apply Changes
button to save the change
in profile and m ake the w ireless connect ion. I f you want t o use an existing profile,
j ust select the profile from the dropdown list and click Activate button t o switch on
the profile set t ing. To rem ove an existing profile, select the profile form the
dropdown list, t hen click “Remove” but t on to rem ove it .
Network Type
The operat ing m ode sett ing determ ines t he architecture of your
wireless net work. Select Ad-Hoc or Infrastructure m ode depending on your network
type. The Ad-Hoc m o d e is u sed f o r si m p le p eer t o p e er n e t w o r k . I t a l l o w s sh ar i n g o f
local resources bet ween wireless cards without using a wireless Access Point . The
Infrastructure
m ode allows a wireless card to be int egrated int o an exist ing network
through an Access Point . I nfrastruct ure network perm its roam ing between Access
Point w hile m aint aining a connect ion to all network resources and providing
addit ional features, such as power sav ing and extended range.
