Setting up the Extender in AP Mode
The difference between extender mode and access point mode is that an extender has a
wireless uplink to the router and an access point has a wired uplink to the router.
Note: Choosing to change the mode is a somewhat advanced task.
To set up an extender in AP mode, first connect it to a PC or Mac computer or a laptop
using an Internet cable (see “Setting up Your Extender Manually” on page 9), and then
change its mode to AP mode. To use the extender as an access point, connect the extender
directly to your r
outer using an internet cable.
You can set up the extender in AP mode from the Welcome screen on the Wireless Settings
page.
1. Launch a web browser, and type WDRa
ngeextender in the address field.
2. Do one of the following:
If the Welcome page displays, set Mode to AP and click Next:
