Adding a Wireless Device to Your Network
Once you configure wireless settings on the extender, you can easily connect wireless
devices such as games, notebooks, laptops, tablets, PDAs, or smartphones to the Internet
and to other devices on the network.
Note: Consult the device’s user guide for guidance on finding and changing its
wireless network settings.
To connect a WPS-enabled wireless device, you either press the WPS button on the front of
the extender or enter a PIN on the device’s Wi-Fi connection page. If the device is not
capable of WPS, you can still connect to the extender using a network name and password.
Connection Type Can be Static IP, Dynamic IP (DHCP), PPPoE
(Username/Password), or PPTP (Username/
Password).
If you select Static IP, the following additional fields display:
IP address–IP address of the Extender. It should be on the
same network as your router.
Subnet–The subnet mask is used to control how many
subnetworks can exist in your local network. The more
subnetworks there are, the fewer the hosts you can have per
subnet.
Gateway–IP address of the router to which this extender is
connected.
Status Status can be Unconfigured, Configured and Connected, or
Unconnected.
Number of Devices
Connected
Number of devices connected to the extender.
QoS Enabled
Enable or disable the
Fastrak QoS application, which prioritizes
different client applications/traffic types over the Internet.
