Battery Life
The typical lifespan of internal UPS batteries is three to five years.
The number of discharge cycles a UPS system provides to connected
devices and the environment it operates in affect the number of years
can considered as a battery.
Maintenance
Regularly scheduled battery maintenance and monitoring can best
determine when batteries are nearing end-of-life, specifically, when they
can no longer supply 80% of their capacity. Inspection of a UPS and
initiation of a self-test, at least once a year, is recommended. Despite their maintenance-
free description (which simply means they do not require replacement fluid), sealed batteries
need scheduled preventive maintenance to check connections and remove corrosion, as well as
determine whether a battery is about to fail.
Replacement
A simple, cost-effective way to restore life to a CyberPower UPS system is to replace its internal
batteries with a CyberPower replacement battery cartridge. These sealed lead-acid batteries
are certified to meet or exceed original manufacturer specifications. These battery replacement
cartridges are preassembled for easy installation and are shipped in reusable packaging for
subsequent delivery of expired batteries to a suitable recycling center. All CyberPower batteries
include an 18-month warranty.
