Chapter 4. Viewing Log Files
4.10
Reviewing Graphs and Resetting Parameters
The graph shows one line for the particle measurement data. The running average trace is blank
until the first averaging interval, selected by the Averaging Interval controls, then displaying a
second line on the graph.
To choose which particle bin to graph:
1. In the Display Options, choose the particle size from the Graph Particle Sizes (see
Figure 4.9).
Figure 4.9: Selecting Graph Parameters
2. To choose particle density or particle frequency, in the Display Options select Density
or Frequency.
Review displays particle measurements as either particle frequency (number of particles
per unit time) or as particle density (number of particles per volume).
3. Adjust the horizontal and vertical scales of the graph:
Vertical Scale. The scale is in particles per unit time when displaying particle frequency, or
in particles per unit volume when displaying particle density. Particle measurement values
that are too large to display with the current scale setting are truncated at the top of the
graph.
Horizontal Scale. You can set the horizontal scale for the particle measurement graph.
Default is set to scale by time (seconds) between the divisions on the horizontal axis, or
showing Absolute Time Labels. The horizontal scale setting affects only the display of
the particle measurements. The log files always record measurements at increments of one
second.
4. To change the Averaging Interval choose an interval in seconds or minutes for
averaging the particle measurements. The new setting takes effect immediately.
4. To change the Result Type choose ‘Average & Instantaneous’, ‘Average Only’, or
‘Instantaneous Only’. The new setting takes effect immediately.
