Step 5 Installing the Header
A. Using the tape measure, measure the distance
between the top of the left Wall Jamb and the top
of the right Wall Jamb. (Remember, the width at the
bottom of the enclosure may NOT be the same as
the width of the top of the enclosure because walls
may not be plumb and square).
B. Locate the Header. Using the miter box and
hacksaw, cut the Header to the length you just
measured.
C. Installing the Soft Close into the Header
1. Remove the four Soft Close mechanisms
from the box along with the Soft Close plates
and screws.
2. Attach a SHORT plate to the top of one Soft
Close nearest the “catch,” with the included
Screw. Repeat with the other three Soft Close
mechanisms and plates. Do not over tighten.
3. Fasten one short Screw to the plate with two
holes. Repeat with the remaining three plates.
4. Attach a LONGER plate to each Soft
Close on the end furthest from the “catch”.
With the included Pan Head Screw, repeat
with other three Soft Close mechanisms.
Do not over tighten.
4. Slide two Soft Close mechanisms into one
end of the top of the Header (See Figure 5a). The
end of each Soft Close with the “catch” should
be positioned closest to the end of the Header.
5. Repeat with the other two Soft Close

Step 4 Installing the
Panel Locator/Bumpers
See Figure 4 to position the Panel Locator/Bumpers.
Secure with #8 x 1-1/2” PH SMS Screws.

C. Use a pencil to mark the position of each of the
three pre-drilled holes in the left Wall Jamb. Set the
Wall Jamb aside for the moment.
D. Using either a 1/8” drill bit (for a fiberglass
enclosure) or a 3/16” masonry drill bit (for tile) drill
three holes where you made the marks. If installing
in a tiled enclosure, gently tap a Screw Anchor into
each hole. DO NOT use the Screw Anchors for a
fiberglass enclosure.
E. Place the Wall Jamb back over the Curb and
against the wall and secure with a single #8 x 1 1/2”
FH SMS Screw in the MIDDLE hole only.
F. Repeat Steps 3A-D for the right Wall Jamb,
marked on the bottom with an “R.”
