INSTALL ATION INSTR UCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2. Locate breakout on RV Harness labeled “FOR TRAILER
TOW USE ONLY: POWERED CONVERTER 85350 REQUIRED”.
This breakout is located behind the driver’s side taillight or
behind driver’s side interior panel depending on vehicle.
3. Identify protective dust cover from T-Connector add-on
breakout shown in Figure 1.

4. Press down on Female 4-Way connector and pull in direction
shown in Figure 2 to separate from RV harness.
Inspect
connector for dirt and debris and clean if necessary.

5. Plug mating connector on Converter harness into RV Harness
from Step #4.
6. Locate a clean and accessible mounting location on the
vehicle near the RV harness ends within reach of white wire
and ring terminal. If possible use existing hole drilled for
RV harness ground. Remove any debris or undercoating to
expose a clean metal surface and drill a 3/32” hole.
*Caution: Take care not to drill through the body or any
exposed surface.*

TRAILER ADD-ON HARNESS
7. Attach ring terminal on the White wire using the ground
screw provided.
8. Route Car side 4-Flat connector from Add-On
harness to center of vehicle and secure to hitch
using cable tie provided.
Caution: Make sure to avoid areas that could cut,
pinch or burn the wires when routing the harness
across the vehicle.
9. Remove Negative (-) battery wire.
10. Route the 12 gauge Black wire from engine
compartment under vehicle along frame rail, shown in
Figure 3, to a position near the left (driver) side taillights
housing and Converter black box. Secure Black wire to
vehicle frame using cable ties provided.

Caution: When routing wire through metal or other
sharp surfaces, always utilize an existing grommet
or insulate wire from the hole with silcone rubber.
11. Under the hood, cut the wire on the Yellow fuseholder
in half. Strip 5/16” of the insulation on one side and attach
the 3/8” ring terminal using a crimping tool.
12. Strip 5/16” on the opposite end of Yellow fuseholder
and attach the Black 12 gauge wire to it using the Yellow
butt connector.
13. With the fuse removed, attach the 3/8” ring terminal
on Yellow fuseholder to vehicles positive (+) battery
terminal shown in Figure 4.

Warning: Do not attempt to connect black power
wire to vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory
wiring. Failure to connect directly to the vehicle
battery may cause vehicle and/or trailer lighting
failure.
14. At rear of vehicle, strip 5/16” of insulation from
Black 12 gauge wire and crimp it to the butt connector
on taillight converter module.
15. Re-attach vehicle Negative (-) battery wire removed
in Step #9.
16. Place Red 10 Amp fuse in fuseholder installed in
Step #13.
17. Conrm correct operation with a test light or
by using a trailer.
18. Locate suitable location to mount converter
box. Remove paper from back of double-sided
tape and press against surface. If necessary clean
surface prior to mounting.
19. Secure loose wires behind taillights with cable
tie provided and re-attach taillight to vehicle. If
necessary re-install rear interior panels and other
hardware removed during install.
