Step 1
Locate the vehicle battery. Look up the
battery location in the owner's manual
of your vehicle. Disconnect the negative
battery terminal. Be sure to fasten this wire
down and away from the battery when
completing the installation process.
Step 2
Open the vehicle hatch. Use the panel
trim removal tool to remove the push
fasteners securing the taillight in place.
Carefully remove the taillight by pulling
straight back from the vehicle.
Separate all three of the connectors, taking
care not to damage the locking tabs on the
factory wiring and place the tail light aside.
Step 3
Route a fish wire down between the
vehicle body and the bumper cover.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 on
the other side of the vehicle.
Step 4
From under the vehicle on the driver side,
secure the custom wiring harness end with the
yellow wire to the fish wire and pull the harness
up between the vehicle body and the bumper
cover. You may need to flex the bumper cover
to get the housings through the opening.
Insert the custom wiring harness end
with the yellow wire to the factory wiring.
Make sure the connectors are fully inserted
with the locking tabs in place.
